A dead address costs you nothing
Everyone writes "verified data". The useful question is elsewhere: what happens when an address turns out to be bad anyway?
Sestaro returned, and the address removed from the database
If our check proves that an address you just unlocked does not exist, your sestaro is returned automatically. There is nothing to claim.
And the address leaves the database for good, so nobody pays for it after you; the person stays, without it. That is the half that matters: it guarantees we have no interest in keeping rubbish on the shelf. A credit-based vendor that keeps dead addresses resells them forever.
Each one only fires if the previous one could not decide: the probe only runs on what the free check could not settle, and the new attempt only on what the probe left undecided.
The in-house check, free and immediate
Syntax, a domain actually able to receive mail, disposable addresses, generic addresses. It settles the obvious invalids before a single credit is spent, and it applies to every account, free ones included.

At the moment you unlock, we ask the recipient server whether the mailbox really exists. That is the only way to tell a plausible address from an address that receives.
Paid plansAnother attempt, later, on undecided cases
When the recipient server gives no usable answer (greylisting, timeout), the address stays undecided. Our probe tries it again later, from the same dedicated IP address as the first attempt, once that server has had time to recover. If the mailbox turns out not to exist, your sestaro is returned.

Every address carries its verdict in plain words: confirmed mailbox, invalid address, domain with no mail server, disposable address, domain that accepts everything, or a case left undecided. You know where you stand before writing, and what is uncertain is called uncertain rather than dressed up.
